Celebrated editor Drenka Willen will return to work at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt after being fired last year in a round of December 3rd layoffs. According to the NY Observer, some of her authors--Gunter Grass, Umberto Eco, Jose Saramago, and Wislawa Szymborska--rallied to Willen's support.

Sources report that the publisher's CEO Tony Lucki received a letter from a few authors from Willen's list in December, and invited her back that same month. While both sides remained mum about the situation, sources confirmed that Willen will return to work.
