Prebich to head Dorchester PublishingPW Daily reports that John Prebich, currently CEO and Head of Dorchester Media, will also oversee operation of the company's publishing imprint (which has mass market paperbacks and magazines under its umbrella.) He takes over from George Sosson, who is leaving the company after five years. Dorchester, founded in 1971, bills itself as the "oldest independent mass market publisher in America" and is primarily known for its Leisure imprint, which publishes thrillers, westerns, horror, romance and sci-fi. They also distribute Hard Case Crime's increasingly popular line of revival pulp fiction. A(lthough I think if you ask various people in the biz on all sides what they think of Dorchester, or specifically Leisure, the answer is more likely to be "the place where mass market books go to die"...)
