Tina Brown Talks About The Book Beast

beastbook.jpgOver at FishbowlNY, editor and Daily Beast founder Tina Brown talked about her newest project–a books site.

“Distressed” with shrinking books coverage and struggling publishers, Brown hopes that this new outlet will help fill the gaps. The site features reviews, video interviews, aggregated content, and articles. Book blogger Maud Newton is a contributor.

Here’s more from the interview: “In England we used to do many more book excerpts in the newspaper every day. I think so many books are published with fabulous content and there’s very little place for a good book excerpt to go. It’s a great way to sample and taste a book and decide whether you want to buy it or not.”
