Since 3pm ET today, the novelist Nicholson Baker has been answering questions from Kindle critics and fans in a live chat at The New Yorker's website.

Here's a sample answer from the author: "Holy caramba. That's a comment. I certainly did detect a huge enthusiasm and pioneer spirit on the part of Kindle owners. I liked that enthusiasm.
