Vampire Diaries Prequel Coming from HarperCollins

In November, HarperCollins Children’s Division will launch a Vampire Diaries spin-off book series entitled Stefan’s Diaries.

The Stefan’s Diaries trilogy will serve as a prequel to L.J. Smith‘s original Vampire Diaries novels and the Alloy Entertainment television series. Both chronicle the supernatural adventures of Elena Gilbert.

The prequel will follow Stefan Salvatore, a vampire feuding with his older brother. Stefan’s Diaries #1: Origins will explain the detailed story behind the animosity. Hint: it has something to do with a girl.

Here’s more about the new series: “[F]ans of the hit television show The Vampire Diaries will finally find out how a passionate romance with a dangerous girl turned loving brothers Stefan and Damon Salvatore into deadly enemies. In a story set during the Civil War, against a backdrop of grand estates, unimaginable riches, and deadly secrets, Stefan and Damon fight for the love of the same woman, Katherine, in a torrid love triangle that will span eternity.”
