Wattpad App Now In Amazon App Store

Amazon has allowed the Wattpad eReader in the Amazon App Store and it now works on the Kindle Fire. Up until now, users would have to find the social reading app through a web browser and download it onto the Kindle Fire.

Amazon had kept eReading apps like Wattpad out of its App Store, because of competition with the Kindle app. Amazon’s business model profits through content sales, over device sales.

eBookNewser has more: “A spokesperson for Wattpad commented on the new addition to Venture Beat over email. They wrote: ‘Over the past couple of weeks we’ve spoken with representatives at the Kindle Fire Store, first over email and then eventually with some phone calls up to the higher levels, convincing them that we’re actually a valuable complementary service.’”
