What Books Should Be Adapted Next?

Bloggers have speculated for months about about dream casts for The Hunger Games film.

Inspired by these imaginary lists, we’d like to know–what books would you like to see turned into movies? In the comments, share your dream project: the book, author, ideal director, dream cast, tagline, and reason why it would make a good TV show or movie.

Below, we suggested a children’s book that could make a good animated   film–Yertle the Turtle by Dr. Seuss. Keep reading to find out why…

Title: Yertle the Turtle by Dr. Seuss

Ideal Director: Director Jimmy Hayward–he did a good job with Horton Hears a Who!.

Dream Cast: Actor Jim Carrey as Yertle–if he can pull off a demanding Scrooge, he can probably play a dictating turtle.

Tagline: Castro and Napoleon have nothing on Yertle.

Reasons Why it Would Be Good as a Movie: (1) A new generation of kids would discover this title, especially with a film version of The Lorax in the works. (2) The subject is timely with political unrest around the world.
