What’s This About the Barnes & Noble Nook?

Apparently next Sunday’s New York Times Book Review features a full-page Barnes & Noble ad for an electronic reading device called the Nook, which will retail for $259 (the same price as the Amazon.com Kindle) and comes with a full-color touch screen. According to the Wall Street Journal, “the book chain has scheduled an event for the media, publishers and publishing agents in New York on Tuesday.” Hey, that’s today! I wonder where it’s being held…

(One nifty detail from Engadget: “A reliable source” tells the tech blog B&N will team up with Best Buy to sell the Nook, maybe even as early as Thursday.)
