Will Smith Ponders Annie Remake with Daughter in Lead Role

Actor Will Smith is considering remaking the movie musical, Annie–possibly putting his daughter Willow in the lead role.

Variety had the scoop: “While details about the Annie retooling are still in development stages, rapper Jay-Z, who worked with Willow on her pop hit ‘Whip My Hair,’ is in talks to collaborate on the music.”

The musical and the film adaptation (with some of the cheeriest music you’ll ever hear) were both based on Little Orphan Annie, a comic strip that ended last year. Read the final strip here, complete with a cliff-hanger ending pictured above…
