Job Requirements The Amazon Digital and Mobile Products team has developed significant digital and mobile businesses including Amazon MP3, Amazon Video on Demand, IMDB, Amazon Mobile store, and Kindle Fire. These businesses are powered by software that runs on a range of mobile platforms including iPhone, Blackberry, Android, Windows Mobile and WebOS.

Role:
We are looking for passionate, hard-working, and talented Sr. Software Engineers who have experience building innovative, mission critical, high volume applications that customers love. You will have an enormous opportunity to make a large impact on the design, architecture, and implementation of cutting edge products used every day, by people you know.

Additional Responsibilities:
_ Responsible for the development and maintenance of key system features
_ Will work with other team members to investigate design approaches, prototype new technology and evaluate technical feasibility
_ Will work in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high quality software against aggressive schedules
_ Will establish architectural principles, select design patterns and then mentor team members on their appropriate application

  • 10+ year experience building successful production software systems BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related field. _ Experience defining system architectures and exploring technical feasibility tradeoffs
  • Experience developing cloud software services and an understanding of design for scalability, performance and reliability
  • Development experience defining, developing and maintaining REST based interfaces
  • Experience and knowledge of the tools of the trade, including a variety of modern programming languages (Java, JavaScript, C/C++, Objective C, Python) and open-source technologies (Linux, SQLite, OpenGL, Spring, Hibernate)
  • Experience developing cloud software services and an understanding of design for scalability, performance and reliability

  • A solid grounding in Computer Science fundamentals (based on a BS or MS in CS or related field)
  • The ability to take raw product requirements and develop software architectures and designs to bring them to life
  • Excellence in technical communication with peers and non-technical cohorts

  • Ability to mentor other software developers to maintain architectural vision and software quality
