The NYPD is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Web Producer in the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Strategic Initiatives. Duties include overseeing content implementation, production and specification compliance for multiple integrated projects from beginning to end; planning, preparing and publishing Department web content and microsites; designing, creating, formatting and managing the digital content of citizen and workforce-facing websites; and collaborating with technical staff to develop new templates and other functionality. This position will also be responsible for creating Photoshop comps, updating web banners, and inputting front-end content; ensuring that all documents meet established content standards and production specifications; and developing business requirements for the use of web analytics, usability tests and other research

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

A BA/BS degree from an accred college with 24 credits in English, journalism or public relations, + 5 yrs of f/t paid exp in public relations, journalism or advertising, including 2 yrs in an admin, supv or consultative capacity; or a combo of educ and/or exp which is equiv to “1” above. Grad study in English, journalism, or public relations may be substituted for up to 1 yr of req exp. However, all candidates must have at least 2 yrs of admin, supv, or consultative exp in public relations, journalism or advertising.

Preferred Skills: 5 yrs of front-end web production exp, outstanding web production skills; knowledge and demonstrated exp with cross-browser and cross-platform issues (e.g., IE, Firefox, Safari; PC, tablet, smartphone); strong proficiency with HTML, CMS, CSS, Adobe CS6, MS Office, Digital Asset Management.

SALARY: Salary commensurate with salary history and experience.
RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT: New York City residency required within 90 days following appointment.
