Editor-in-chief for annual directories and website

Job Requirements RESPONSIBILITIES

-Manages editorial, production and creative direction of print and online publications.

-Organizes and oversees day-to-day operations of the print & online directories, including
editorial and advertisements.

-Conceptualizes and executes editorial vision for print and online directories.

-Sees that each category has listings- writes, edits, and formats listings and features.
Selects art and images for print and online. Resizing images for online and print.

-Coordinates the production of advertisers ads in print and online: from the point of contract through approval to insertion in print and online publications. This includes sending specs to advertises, obtaining copy for ads, proofing, formatting and styling listings, assigning categories and SEO keyword placements, resizing images, creating copy for ads that are not camera ready and sending to graphic artist.

-Creates and implements production schedule for print directories.

-Prepares Quark files and uploads files to graphic artist.

-Writes press releases when required.

-Tracks traffic trends and analytics, and conceives and implements traffic-boosting content ideas to create a sustainable upward trend in the number of visitors to the site.

-Day-to-day management and execution of social media campaigns (including Twitter and Facebook as well as newly emerging platforms) goal of increase brand recognition of products.

-Works on team with sales department, publisher, and graphic artist.

-Develop, implement and supervise an internship program and supervise interns.


QUALIFICATIONS

-College graduate with at least 4-five years experience working as an editor at a major print publication with online experience.

-The position requires outstanding copyediting/rewriting, organizational, and time-management skills.

-Proactive, detail-oriented, and extremely organized.

-Adherent to deadlines and follow-through.

- Experience and comfortable in working with a team approach.

- Experience planning, managing and executing social media campaigns.

-Proficient in Word, Excel, Acrobat, FTP Software, computers, social media, online research and email.

-Knowledge of Quark, Photoshop, Illustrator, filemaker helpful.

-Great people skills.

Salary: $35,000-$45,000
