Editorial internship — book publisher

Job Requirements Insight Editions, an award-winning book publishing company in San Rafael, CA, has an immediate opening for a six-month, part-time editorial department internship. This is a paid internship.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
Assisting with art and photo collection and selection;
Assisting with art and photo organization and tracking;
Clearing and recording permissions and credits for images and artwork;
Performing light editing, collating corrections, and reviewing proofs;
Assisting with internal and external communication;
Assisting with copy writing;
Researching and reporting on specific topics;
Administrative duties: data entry, filing, emailing, mailing.

Desired minimum qualifications:
Excellent written and communication skills;
An “eye” for photography, artwork, and aesthetic quality;
Experience clearing rights and permissions;
Possess positive, mature, can-do attitude;
Professional manner;
Basic Photoshop and InDesign skills;
Excellent Internet research skills;
Proficient with MS Office Suite;
Proficient with Mac OS and file systems;
Previous book publishing-related experience a big plus.
