The Director of Sales Marketing is pivotal to the success of this rapidly growing company thriving in the mobile, radio and digital space. The ideal candidate is ambitious and seeks a challenging work environment, as well as possesses the desire to contribute to the growth of a company that calls more than 200 million registered users our customers.
As a service team to a sales organization that has doubled revenue each of the past few years, this leader must have a “sales lens”, a hunger for data and a forward-thinking mindset. In addition to strategic foresight, s/he must be a do-er - one who can execute on an array of projects and tasks with (near) flawless execution. It is imperative that this person be nimble, resourceful, self-motivated and a skillful juggler.
There are two primary functions of this role. First is to develop strategic plans, positioning, sales narrative, collateral and tools for use at every stage of the sales cycle. Second is to drive and manage our Integrated Marketing efforts to meet client needs, optimize revenue and to quarterback strategy and programs across the organization.
Responsibilities:
Lead the B2B marketing communication efforts for key Pandora products, advertising verticals, audiences and specific platforms:
*Build and manage marketing plans for key business pillars with clear goals and measurable objectives that can be tied to revenue growth. Execute on these marketing plans with a resilient focus on goals and Pandora’s best interests.
*With a strong curiosity for sales insights and great story telling abilities, develop “street smart” content with an eye for sleek design in the creation of scalable sales collateral that equip the sales force with tools that articulate the Pandora value proposition effectively, succinctly and with high impact.
*Either individually, or with an external resource, strengthen Pandora’s industry thought leadership via insight reports, case studies, white papers, infographics and the like.
*As a senior position on the Sales Marketing team, s/he must lead by example: masterfully straddle the line between leading and rolling up his/her sleeves; be a clear and positive communicator; and display excellent prioritization skills.
Direct Pandora’s Integrated Marketing Efforts:
*Lead the development of cutting edge, multi-platform sales programs that can meet single advertiser objectives, as well as programs that are scalable to the entire marketplace. All programs must grow and/or contribute to Pandora’s advertising revenue.
*Lead a small team of bright managers to develop, manage, rollout and maintain integrated marketing campaigns.
*Act as a quarterback for large-scale programs to help shepherd communication and execution across the organization.
*Work closely with Business Development to build the right structure for each program to ensure the right cost-benefit analysis is done and the right ROI can be achieved.
*Collaborate with our sales team to devise client-meeting strategy, anticipate and resolve client objections, and rehearse pitches as needed.
Requirements:
*10+ years experience as a seasoned marketer in a digital media or broadcast radio/television environment, preferably with Business to Business (B2B) experience
*Must be an articulate professional with excellent oral and written communication skills as this position is required to develop original written content and the demonstrated ability to present in high profile group environments
*Significant knowledge of the digital and mobile advertising industry with a strong professional network of media, marketing and brand advertising professionals
*Strong project management skills to ensure multiple projects with varying timelines, needs, inputs and budgets are completed successfully
*Must have experience managing and mentoring small to mid-size teams of people at varying levels, from senior managers to entry level positions.
*Must have extensive experience in at least one of the following: a start-up company, a matrix organization or in heavy cross-functional position.
*BS required in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics or related undergrad degree.
*Travel to sales field offices as well as industry/client events required
