CNBC Digital has earned a strong reputation for its speed and smarts in covering breaking business news. Its award-winning coverage of markets and finance stands at the head of the pack, and now it’s looking to grow that footprint into other areas of business coverage.

We are looking for a talented business journalist to edit, produce, and sometimes write stories about where the economy, finance and business meet everyday life. The right candidate must be able to transform complex issues into readable and relatable stories of interest to a wide general audience that CNBC reaches through partners like Today.com and NBCNews.com. Topics include retail, careers, business travel, the economy, retirement, consumer products and more. The successful candidate could be working on a story about the glass ceiling one day and horse meat the next.

This position requires somebody of strong organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to think on their feet, juggle multiple tasks at once and prioritize tasks and stories. The person must be prepared to report, edit and produce copy on tight deadlines. Attention to detail, combined with a commitment to accurate and fact-based reporting essential. He/she should be highly conversant in social media, both as a reporting tool, and as a way to drive audience engagement. Strong packaging and headline writing skills a plus.

The content editor will work within CNBC’s proprietary CMS to maintain relevant section pages and ensure our material employs SEO best practices.
