Job Requirements Real Simple Digital is seeking an enthusiastic, creative editor who is passionate about lifestyle content and who eats, breaths, and thinks social media. The editor needs to be digitally savvy, entrepreneurial, and a true team player. Excellent writing and editing skills are a must.
The editor will be the chief strategist for Real Simple’s use of social media and its blog. Experience with product development, blogging platforms, content aggregation, and mobile applications is preferred.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee social media presence and blogs for RealSimple.com.
•Develop editorial calendar for social properties and UGC campaigns.
• Work with the staff to engage our community; be able to provide training and insight on best practices.
•Write blog posts, stories, and galleries, and create video content as needed.
• Manage freelancers and guest contributors.
•Monitor social media trends.
•Work with sales and marketing on social media components of brand campaigns.
• Contribute to overall site, working closely with Deputy Editors on new content creation.

Qualifications:

•Strong experience in writing and editing, 4+ years experience at a lifestyle publication, preferably conceptualizing and executing Social Media and blog strategies.
•Strong organizational skills required to effectively manage multiple projects at a time.
•Strong content packaging skills, including video and UGC.
•Must have a high degree of motivation and work well both as an individual and within team environment.
•Ability to understand customer needs and identify emerging needs that can be solved using social networking.
•Understand technology trends as it relates to Social.
•Ability to forge connections with social media companies.
•Experience working with both a content management system, blogging tools, and social streams
•Ability to track, interpret, and act on key web metrics
•Ability to prepare ongoing activity and status reports regarding campaign activities.
•Design or photo skills a plus.
