Job Requirements Yahoo's Display Marketplaces Group is leading the transformation for how Advertisers connect with their customers across the Internet. The Pricing and Yield Management (PYM) team within Marketplaces is looking for dynamic and versatile professionals that are committed to making a huge impact in a rapidly growing business. This team is responsible for pricing, pricing analytics and pricing-yield business operations for all of Yahoo!’s display advertising business. The team is heavily reliant on infrastructure built on large scale data processing and storage solutions.

The Business Operations Manager: Modeling and Analytics will play an important role in helping the team manage the operational pricing process for effective monetization of Yahoo!’s ad inventory by: 1. Maintaining and enhancing the data models and tools relied on by the entire team; 2. Monitoring Marketplace dynamics and performance across the Yahoo! Ad Network; 3. Developing thorough, accurate analyses for monetization and yield improvement initiatives/tools; and 4. Working with the product & engineering teams to improve underlying processes and systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Work on existing Predictive Models for display inventory monetization to improve accuracy and efficacy
Build new innovative models based on elaborate data mining to help the core Pricing and yield Mgmt. function by quantifying the impact of different factors on inventory pricing and monetization. Examples include:
Minimum reserve pricing for auction marketplaces
Develop models to determine efficient/optimum supply allocation of Yahoo! inventory across different platforms/channels.
Models to help with inventory planning and media buying to meet campaign goals and maximize ex-tac revenue
Work closely with Sciences and Engineering teams within the company to understand different ad systems-related algorithms (forecasting, ad serving etc.) to identify opportunities for yield improvement
Identify new opportunities, capabilities, and processes that will grow long-term value for Yahoo!

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master's in Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics or related engineering/quantitative discipline is required; PhD strongly preferred.
3-5 years work experience in Data-mining, Statistical Modeling and Predictive Analytics in a high data volume environment - preferably within a revenue management function
Proficiency in programming and scripting in at least one non-obscure language, for instance, in Perl, Java, C, C++.
Technical skills with a track-record of successfully applying quantitative decision-making techniques in a business-setting.
Ability to handle ambiguity, juggle many tasks at once and quickly shift from one situation or task to another.
Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present results of complex analyses clearly to cross-functional teams at all levels of management.
A deep commitment to accuracy and thoroughness in all analysis and reporting tasks.
