The Marketing Director will design and implement a wide range of marketing strategies to drive user acquisition and brand awareness. While consumer outreach is the main focus of this role, you will also help develop communication materials for other key outreach strategies including events, trade shows, ads, and partnerships.

Your background should demonstrate proven success in creating and delivering high-impact consumer internet marketing programs. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a fluid start-up environment and will bring an energetic, fun and creative approach to their work. You’re a passionate about the crafter/maker space and love to create and learn.


Key responsibilities

Design and own overall Kollabora marketing strategy and manage day-to-day implementation of programs.
Maximizing user acquisition funnels including viral channels, partnerships, content creation, events, community activity, and more.
Help redesign website calls-to-action and product marketing to drive new registered users.
Develop approach toward additional avenues of consumer acquisition and brand building including industry relationships, classical advertising (including print), SEO and SEM efforts, mobile display advertising programs, and more.
Manage internal data effort around marketing including tracking, and iterating and managing data-driven user acquisition programs
Create partnerships with craft brands and DIY bloggers to raise awareness and create content.
Develop PR and organize event marketing efforts.
Manage internal data reporting needs for site usage.
Participate in our weekly Kollabora lab and make things.



Requirements

3 years or more of relevant experience managing consumer marketing programs in an online or mobile environment and/or ad agency.
An ‘all rounder’ with strong analytic skills, creative ideas, and business savvy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Comfortable in a small, intense and high-growth start-up environment.

We work out of a loft in SoHo, NY with roof-access. Near stores, restaurants, and cafes, only a few blocks away from most major subway lines.
