Job Requirements As a Sr. Gameplay Engineer, you will have a hands on role in defining and implementing key game systems and features, as well as integrating existing libraries or services. This position requires close collaboration with all other disciplines to help capture, develop and communicate a coherent vision of our game systems, features and tools. You will also be a leader in establishing best practices, assisting / mentoring other engineers on the team and identifying problem areas / opportunities for improvement in the codebase.

Game Design Document Creation/Maintenance
Game mechanic Conception/Implementation
Mentoring Design Team


Work Experience
3-7 years gaming experience.
1-2 years minimum as a mobile lead designer
A clear portfolio of previous shipped, quality product.
Shipped at least 3 mobile, social, freemium titles (preferably with Apple feature or top 10 standing).
Obsession with games and game mechanics of all types (board, pen and paper, mobile, console, PC).

Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification
Undergraduate degree or equivalent industry experience and success.

Knowledge/Skills
The ability to convey game mechanics and concepts in a clear and concise way through documentation/presentation.
Strong creative writing skills.
Great people skills where collaboration is the center of your creative world.
Big picture thinking that can see past personal bias and envision outcomes outside of your creative comfort zone.
The ability to quickly pivot based on new information, data or concepts.
Ability to prototype game mechanics and work to a high standard at any point in the design iteration loop.
Familiarity with Unity preferred.
Deep understanding of the mobile/social market.
Scripting Skills a plus.
Art Skills a plus.
Fast iteration abilities.

Games Interactive Entertainment (WBIE) is starting a new mobile freemium games studio in San Francisco to build on our current success with mobile titles such as Injustice (iOS), Lego Batman, Lego Harry Potter and Scribblenauts. You will be one of the first employees in the studio, tasked to bring more of WB’s iconic properties to mobile, including but not limited to, DC comics, Lord of the Rings and Cartoon Networks.
