The University of Notre Dame (www.nd.edu) invites applications for the position of Director of Communications and Marketing for the College of Arts and Letters. The largest and oldest college at Notre Dame, Arts and Letters (al.nd.edu/) houses the divisions of the arts, the humanities, and the social sciences. It encompasses 500 faculty, 20 departments, more than 40 undergraduate and graduate degree programs, and more than 20 research centers and institutes. Notable achievements of the past decade include:

• Top 10 nationally in fellowships recognized by the National Research Council
• An average of $9 million per year in federal funding
• A 13-fold increase in social science grants
The Director is responsible for developing, managing, and coordinating internal and external marketing and communications activities for the College. Key responsibilities include:
• Develop and implement strategic marketing and communications plan in collaboration with the leadership of the College.
• Oversee and direct all proactive marketing communications in support of College goals, including high priority print materials, digital communications, and special events.
• Work with the Office of News and Information to develop a robust public relations plan, including key media relationships and coordination of public relations opportunities.
• Identify key events throughout the year and collaborate in their coordination, communication to key audiences, and ultimate success.
• Manage, direct, and lead the Office of Communications with five staff members in service to the mission of the College and the University, including human resources management, supervision, and performance management.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree in marketing or communications preferred, experience in higher education / liberal arts background desirable. Experience in public relations and strategic marketing required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to achieve effective collaboration with diverse work and project groups. Must have strong understanding and commitment to the values and mission of the University of Notre Dame. Starting date negotiable, salary competitive.
