Job Requirements Forbes Media Corporate Communications seeks a dynamic and experienced Senior Director of Communications, reporting to the SVP of Corporate Communications.

The Senior Director will primarily be responsible for generating publicity for content in Forbes magazine. The individual will have corporate communications responsibilities, overseeing external communications for Forbes' research arm Forbes Insights, international editions, and Marketing, and will assist with writing assignments, issues management as well as researching and preparing company award submissions.

The successful candidate will have strong relationships with consumer, business, online, entertainment, wire and broadcast press as well as trade media, have keen news instincts and excellent written communication skills, be creative, self-motivated, organized, and detailed-oriented, and be able to work on multiple ongoing projects under deadline.

Specific Responsibilities include: --

Editorial
* Pitch Forbes magazine issue content to media, including TV, print, radio and online outlets
* Develop/write/disseminate press releases for Forbes magazine issues
* Pitch editorial staff as subject-matter experts on breaking news stories
* Develop and maintain relationships with key media contacts for TV, print, radio and online
* Handle incoming requests for interviews with Forbes writers and editors. Set up interviews and manage logistics
* Handle incoming business/trade press and speaking engagement requests. Coordinate interviews, talking points and backgrounders
* Research and determine Forbes magazine opportunities in the trades
* Attend weekly magazine editorial meetings and ad hoc meetings for specific Forbes signature lists, such as Billionaires, Celebrity 100, Forbes 400 and Most Powerful Women, and features
* Coordinate with staff/PR colleagues in London and Asia on stories, breaking news and signature issues
* Manage and distribute press coverage for all signature issues, such as the Investment Guide, and lists like Billionaires, Celebrity 100, Forbes 400 and Most Powerful Women
* Manage relationships with PR measurement vendors
* Provide media/camera training for staff as appropriate
* Organize, update and manage key information on the departmental shared drive, including media lists and first bound lists, in collaboration with Manager of Internal Communications


Forbes Media
* Develop/write/disseminate press releases for company news, new hire announcements and related initiatives as required
* Research key award opportunities for Forbes Media and lead and prepare company award submissions
* Research and publicize Forbes Media's research arm Forbes Insights opportunities
* Collaborate with Forbes International team to publicize opportunities around Forbes magazine international editions
* Collaborate with Forbes' Marketing team to publicize unique integrated marketing programs
* Attend key departmental staff meetings (including ad sales and marketing)
