MARKETING COPYWRITER
SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE:
A leader in multiple levels of copywriting from B2B to B2C, online, web, direct mail,
e-newsletters, catalogs, advertising, and more. The Copywriter is someone that thinks quickly and outside traditional models and approaches. Someone who is bursting with ideas, a great writer, project manager and editor who is dedicated, passionate and committed to getting things done. This position will lead projects as assigned, create and proofread new and existing copy for marketing, sales, web, multimedia efforts, social media and all internal and external communications. Must be detail-oriented, have a proven ability to meet deadlines and organize and prioritize workload. The Copywriter can work independently as well as work in close partnership with others.
KEY DUTIES:
• Ability to write good, clear, imaginative copy for a variety of mediums with accurate spelling and grammar referencing the CNS Style Guide
• Develop new ideas and concepts and imagine your way into the mind of the target audience
• Researches and gathers information from all sources involved for each project to ensure accuracy and develop creative briefs
• Basic familiarity with web, multimedia including video editing and technology
• Experience in writing for the web applying SEO techniques
• Manages assigned projects to ensure they are completed within established time frames and deadlines
• Maintains and updates computer files and hard-copy file for all projects
• Preserve appropriate records and support documentation on an on-going basis
• Acts as a company support and information source for all writing, editing and proofreading activities
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in English Journalism or other closely related field
JOB EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• 2+ years experience in copywriting for advertising, marketing, sales, catalogs and promotional projects
• Candidate must be able to demonstrate cohesive writing abilities that carry through communication and promotional campaigns
SPECIALIZED SKILLS:
• Highly motivated self-starter
• Able to work with a wide range of personality types and basically get along with all of them
• Strong creative writing abilities that are clear, concise and persuasive
• Excellent grammar, spelling and syntax skills
• Creative approach to problem solving, make good decisions and work well under pressure and deadlines
