||New York Road Runners’ Brand Marketing and Communications team is looking for a part-time writer and editor with previous email writing experience who’s a quick study, fast to turn around copy, and available three to four days per week for a mostly in-house writing gig. If hired, you will be creating call-to-action email and web copy. You must be able to match brand tone and style for different audiences and be comfortable working with various stakeholders as well as meeting tight deadlines.
•Create catchy call-to-action copy for digital communications (in particular, email communications).
•Write headlines, subject lines, and body copy for email campaigns.
•Weave together informational and promotional copy in a cohesive manner.
•Be comfortable working with various stakeholders within the company (coordinators to executives) in person & via email to get copy and approvals.
•Accept constructive criticism and edits from our editorial team.
•Create copy quickly, and with attention to detail, to meet tight deadlines.
•Work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment that is never boring.
•Enjoy a fun business-casual office where fitness and running are often part of the conversation.
The ideal candidate will have at least three years of digital writing experience and will be able to provide samples of his/her previous work.
•A four-year college degree.
•At least three years of writing or editing experience, preferably in the digital realm.
•A never-ending supply of ideas for headlines and copy that will grab readers’ attention.
•The ability to follow brand and style guidelines.
•A good grasp of voice and tone to craft email campaigns to different audiences.
•Stellar interpersonal skills and writing and editing abilities.
•Familiarity with email and web standard practices; basic knowledge of HTML is preferred, but not mandatory.
•Available to work in our 156 West 56th Street office three to four days per week; hours are flexible, but cannot exceed 29 hours per week.
