We are searching for an experienced (5+years) News Producer to work in Washington, D.C. as part of a highly motivated team made up of people from all over the world. Energetic and detail oriented, the ideal candidate will be tech savvy and be able to adapt to different and changing technical and editorial environments and demands. The ideal writer producer at CCTV-America is an international news junkie who can pitch, write and produce compelling stories for a global audience. Candidates should be able to juggle multiple tasks and switch gears under pressure as well as having experience with breaking news. On occasion, writer producers will be tasked with creating graphics, editing video and working closely with international correspondents and anchors. Experience in an international multi-cultural newsroom is preferred but strong local news candidates will be considered. We are looking for people who are smart and sharp but who know how to work well in a team.
The News Editor is a well-rounded television professional with experience in reporting, producing, video editing, copy editing, art direction and design. News Editor will collaborate with correspondents, helping them conceive, write and produce their stories. For business stories, the News Editor also will help correspondents organize and visualize data. He or she will check facts and sources in package scripts, anchor continuity, charts/graphics and lower thirds.
On occasion, the News Editor will write promos for shows or series. The News Editor is a team player who will collaborate with correspondents, producers, video editors, creative designers and directors to create quality television and safeguard the News brand.
All positions require previous television and international coverage experience.

Our programs include “Biz Asia America”—a two-hour business show that airs, M-F, at 7:00PM US Eastern time; “The Heat”—a Saturday night news & current affairs show (featuring some lively debates) at 8:30 PM US Eastern time; and “Americas Now”—a weekly news magazine program in English presenting in-depth stories about Latin America (and about Latin American culture in the U.S.) at 8:30PM US Eastern time.
