In this role you will assist in the implementation of public relations activities and events to help promote and support the objectives, and business goals of the organization. In addition, supports daily public relations activities, such as updating media lists, writing and distributing press materials, distributing media coverage reports, fielding incoming media inquiries. Supports PR events and when appropriate provides on-site PR staff support. Provides effective public relations campaigns for all company entities and SHOP.com
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•Oversees the external media communications for the company’s branded product lines.
•Writes and edits all press releases.
•Compiles monthly and annual reports that monitor overall media coverage.
•Manages Senior Vice President’s public relations calendar and procures media opportunities specifically for her brands.
•Manages press content of the company’s web sites.
•Creates 360 degree campaigns to increase client/brand visibility across multiple media platforms.
•Continuously monitors the client/brand category for competitive and consumer trends.
•Secures feature and exclusive stores across media platforms.
•Contributes to all social media strategy.
•Complies with company policies and procedures.
•Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience
•Bachelors degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or related field.
•Three to five years of related work experience with a public relations agency and/or in a corporate public relations role.
•Proficiency with PR management software (i.e., Vocus) is preferred.
•Experience working within the beauty brand industry is required.
•Experience generating media coverage from business or technology companies is a plus.
•Extensive existing relationships and contacts within beauty, business, and technology media markets.
•Experience managing global press initiatives.
•Strong track record for planning and executing unique press events.
•Or combination of equivalent experience, education, and training.
•Proficient use of MS Office Products, Social media platforms, especially Face book, Twitter, YouTube, and emerging online sites and digital media.
•Strong writing, editing, and communication skills; complex problem solving; troubleshooting; active listening; critical thinking; analysis; time management; judgment; decision-making; and a passion for Public Relations.
