Job Requirements This contract position for Scripps Networks’ lifestyle property, ulive.com, will be responsible for the community management and audience development efforts on its new YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/ulive. This key team member will manage the day-to-day operations of the channel while also helping the ulive team grow the channel’s reach and audience through YouTube best practices, social media and strategic partnerships and collaborations.

In addition to being the voice of our channel, the Audience Development manager will interface with ulive’s creators, helping them understand their content’s performance, optimize their content, engage with the community on ulive’s channel and suggest partners for potential collaborations.

This candidate will have extensive knowledge of social media best practices while also a keen eye for YouTube content and its ecosystem, from best practices to the best creators. This person is passionate about creating and managing communities from nuts to bolts and will be a key contributor in building a genuine community around our channel and brand.

This is a contractor position and candidates will arrange their own working environment but will report to ulive management based out of New York City. Some travel to New York and Los Angeles will be required on a quarterly basis.


Core Duties

Channel Management
Leads content management workflow for channel, including working with creators to plan and schedule content, uploading, optimizing, publishing and tracking videos on the channel, thumbnail and endslate production.
Optimizes channel and per-video creative, metadata and annotations, including banner creative, thumbnails, end slates, titles, descriptions, tags, In-Video Programming, channel and playlist descriptions, balancing an editorially strong voice, SEO knowledge and comprehensive understanding of platform best practices.
Identifies relevant opportunities to drive off-channel awareness to ulive.com
Uses analytics, knowledge of community, and personal creativity to continually refine best practices for Channel/Video Optimization


Community Management
Responds to comments on ulive’s channel and on it’s Google+ page.
Uses off-platform social tools to engage the community and meet traffic
Hosts monthly-to-quarterly Google Hangouts
Manages key fan relationships and fosters collaborations and premiums for those subscribers

Audience Development
Reaches out to influencers in the space for cross-promotional opportunities
Assists with production of marketing materials, sizzle reels, on and off channel collateral
Hosts live google hangouts with creators and fans
Coordinates with PR and Marketing teams on co-promotions across Scripps platforms
Provided intelligent analytic reporting, along with suggestions for content improvements
Helps identify tentpole programming for creators
