NRF is seeking a creative and dynamic Multimedia Content Designer to create compelling visual content for a variety of platforms including web, video and print. This is a new position within NRF’s fast-paced and friendly Communications and Public Affairs team. This person will have the opportunity to shape the development of multimedia content production for an audience of savvy retailers, industry partners and elected officials. This is an excellent opportunity for a storyteller with both strong technical ability and a clear editorial eye.
•Originates, develops and designs creative material to be used on websites (including mobile), social media and print
•Collaborates with multiple stakeholders to create innovative news article images, infographics, reports, web videos, slideshows, advocacy materials, campaigns, branding and additional visual collateral.
•Utilizes photography and video equipment and video editing software to achieve desired high-quality results
•Acts as a photographer, director, and filming and lighting expert
•Coordinates and executes video post-production tasks which include reviewing footage, making editorial decisions, rough cuts, audio adjustment, color correction and final editing.
•Contributes to NRF photo/visual library
•Helps produce internal and external presentations for NRF spokespeople
•Works with the IT team to help select and maintain necessary equipment and software for video and graphic production
•Operates production equipment in our in-house media room and manages inventory
•Collaborates with designers in Marketing and IT departments to ensure consistency of NRF design/visual style
•Performs other duties as assigned
•Must be a self-starter who can ramp up with new technologies quickly and can adapt to the needs of a growing and evolving organization
•Bachelors or Masters in a design-related field (e.g., interactive design, product design, graphic design) or equivalent practical experience
•Extensive experience in Adobe CC (Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, InDesign), video production and editing tools (Premier/Final Cut, After Effects) and PowerPoint
•Excellent storyteller with a proven track record in illustration, design, video production, editing, animation and basic photography
•Ability to work well within a highly-collaborative team
•Able to research and pitch fresh ideas to a team
•Able to manage a project from start to finish, often under short deadline, with feedback from multiple stakeholders
•Preferred interest and desire to keep up-to-date with related industry trends and issues
•Preferred understanding of retail-related advocacy issues
•Basic/intermediate HTML5/CSS3 is a plus
•Experience with digital and social media platforms and tools
•Some travel required
