Job Requirements Qualifications of Ideal Candidate:
- 3+ years developing and managing web-based products and solutions at all stages of the life-cycle
- Excellent attention to detail and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once
- Solid understanding of web standards, web browser capabilities, user experience, and common web technologies (AJAX, HTML, dHTML, XML and CSS)
- Experience with publishing systems including: content management (commercial or open source), ad serving and video
- Familiarity with ad serving platforms, ideally DFP
- Demonstrated ability leading cross-functional teams
- Problem solver with solid analytical and research skills
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, with the ability to converse with business, editorial and technology teams
- Candidates with experience working for news media websites strongly preferred
- Bachelors degree required
About Our Company The Atlantic is seeking a digitally-obsessed product manager to join the team responsible for developing and maintaining TheAtlantic.com, CityLab.com and TheWire.com. This is a cross-functional role that is responsible for gathering requirements, creating functional specifications, communicating project status, and supporting edit and business initiatives. The candidate will have experience developing web-based products, a strong user interface focus, knowledge of SEO best practices, and excellent project management skills.

Major Responsibilities Include:
- Managing the entire product life-cycle from concept to design and through launch
- Troubleshooting issues and brainstorming on solutions
- Collaborating with editorial, marketing, sales, and advertising operations to define and prioritize project requirements
- Conducting needs assessments, competitive research, user research and market analysis to inform product development and strategy
- Documenting business and functional requirements
- Determining and evaluating success metrics to measure the effectiveness of product launches
- Testing and optimizing product features interactively
- Writing test cases and coordinating testing prior to launches
- Process and deliver Atlantic digital editions
