Job Requirements Description:

The Washingtonian is seeking a web developer/digital analyst to work on projects across the Washingtonian brand.

We're looking for an energetic, team-oriented individual with 3+ years of professional experience.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail, knowledge of current web standards and best practices, and a healthy interest in lifestyle journalism.


Primary Duties:

-- Work with editorial team in creation of interactive, dynamic, engaging content for website

-- Maintain and update databases, evaluate and rewrite front-end code for websites in order to minimize load times and best serve the interests of site readers

-- Help maintain consistent presentation across website and digital applications

-- Develop, test and monitor e-newsletter campaigns

-- Implement broad base of digital campaigns, including microsites, advertisements and landing pages

-- Create meaningful metrics to track content and overall website/digital app performance

-- Take point on sharing analytics with entire company, creating custom reports for each department


Qualifications:

-- Proven ability to write W3C standards-compliant HTML/CSS as well as HTML5

-- Experience writing HTML for email clients

-- Experience using JQuery/Javascript

-- Proven ability to build dynamic web applications with PHP/MySQL

-- Ability to work capably under tight deadlines and juggle multiple projects at once

-- Self-motivated with a positive attitude

-- Knowledge of SEO best practices

-- Advanced knowledge of web metrics



Bonus Experience:

-- Experience with Movable Type, WordPress, and Drupal

-- Knowledge of CRM tools
