Job Requirements The Senior Account Executive is responsible for copywriting, media relations and developing client relationships by providing professional and proactive support, while recommending and implementing new ideas, concepts and campaigns. The Senior Account Executive is expected to handle a set of accounts which yield higher budgets, more complex issues, and at a greater volume than the Account Executive. The Senior Account Executive position is directly responsible for client communications related to event participation support and submissions as well as GOM involvement in industry events. The Senior Account Executive acts independently and only occasionally requires Partner or Account Director’s oversight with respect to client interaction.

Responsibilities:
• Work to develop and execute integrated communications strategies, including public relations, marketing, digital and social media initiatives
• Develop meaningful relationships with clients and become recognized as main point of contact
• Identify client’s short- and long-term goals, translating strategic objectives into traditional and online public relations tactics, marketing programs, and social media campaigns
• Identify key messages and audiences based on each client’s business priorities
• Keep abreast of market trends and corresponding opportunities for clients
• Identify and help drive opportunities for new business – assist Account Director and Partner
• Record time worked on a daily basis
• Build and maintain strong relationships with appropriate members of the media to facilitate advantageous placement of articles and releases
• Respond to media inquiries, develop media lists, pitch stories, identify editorial calendar opportunities, etc.
• Write and edit effectively for various media outlets as required; approve and edit work provided by interns, Account Coordinator, Social Media Coordinator on behalf of assigned clients
• Meet multiple and concurrent deadlines, individually and for any team members
• Manage client budgets effectively – exclusive to the Senior Account Executive’s assigned client load; guide the budget for the Account Executive; present any concerns to the Account Director and Partner ; attend monthly GOM Budget Meeting
• Ensure Partner and Account Director are kept fully informed regarding activities and plans for support staff and clients
• Actively researches and handle submissions of GOM potential awards, speaking engagements
• Serve on a Project Team including the Creative Team, Account Director, and Partners to develop and execute special GOM-brand development projects
• Schedule meetings and provide documented recaps to clients
• Attend networking events, seminars and conference in order to maintain personal and professional development

Requirements:

• 3 – 7 years of experience in a PR / agency environment of which 2 of the years were in account management
• Bachelors Degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or related field
• Knowledge of hospitality industry with the ability to speak and write intelligently on these topics
• Excellent writing and communication skills; including knowledge of AP style
• Outgoing personality; ability to work overtime and occasionally travel
