Job Requirements Austin Way magazine, a new must-read glossy magazine for the active Austin area resident or visitor, is looking for driven marketing/business development professionals who possess a passion for the market and all things Austin to join and help build a high performing team.

The primary duties for this position include the following:

• Utilize strong organizational skills, proactively manage event planning and implementation process for Austin Way, and work closely with the publisher on business development and sales support.

• Work with the publisher and national marketing team to conceptualize and execute events for Austin Way that are aligned with Niche Media brand.

• Support the sales team in order to drive the business and maximize the efficiency, productivity and success of the Austin Way team, including design & production of sales material and conceptualization of marketing/event integration opportunities for local clients.

• Support Publisher in building relationships in the community that establish Austin Way and help meet revenue goals.

• Develop and secure barter and non-traditional revenue (i.e. sponsorship) opportunities to generate revenue and displace costs.

• Represent Austin Way & Niche Media at client and company events to build our business and work with photographers and PR firm to get images uploaded to website.

• Manage event recap process, distributing all recaps to clients in a timely manner.

• Develop and maintain a database of contacts (sponsorship, trade, comp list, etc.) for local events, scrubbing and updating regularly as needed.

• Handle social media & web-related promotional duties for magazine as needed.

• Assist in development and management of intern program.

• Other projects and duties as assigned.


The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or 2-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Prior experience with luxury brand products and clients preferred, ideally in the publishing industry.

• Must be able to effectively interface directly with clients and prospects in a professional manner and diplomatically address all needs.

• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment are required.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as Gmail, is required.
