Professional/Personal Overview
As an award-winning freelance writer and lifestyles editor and columnist, my work includes in-depth pieces on racism in western Pennsylvania, the lumber industry, welfare reform, child abuse, grief, and health issues as well as comprehensive stories of engaging people and places throughout the country.

I maintain a blog at www.zenbaglady.typepad.com and I write a bi-weekly column for The Clarion News. Both focus on life around me - what I experience and observe. I challenge readers to reflect on their lives and opinions by telling my own stories of the ordinary and not-so-ordinary.

My favorite part of the writing process is the interview. I am curious so I ask the right questions and I'm a good listener so I get the right answers. I am also a thorough researcher. It always amazes me where my curiosity will get me and who I find to talk to for an article. Most people are anxious to share their knowledge or experiences; you just have to know where to find them.
