To start us off right, Mondays I plan to feature a collection of random specific insights writers have found from working with various editors and publications. Did you notice how the editor at the snow plow trade magazine absolutely hates it when a writer refers to snow as 'the white stuff'? Do you get reamed out for going a single sentence above your word count at that newspaper in Pittsburgh? Do you always, always, without fail get rewritten with no explanation by the editors at that fashion website and are just now coming to grips with the fact that there's nothing you can do about it? Please send it in. These will be anonymous, but the more we get, the greater chance there will be that if you get an assignment at one of these publications, you'll find out some inside information before you even get started.
