Are You Good Looking Enough to Publish A Book?

20191033243848l.jpgToday is the day to be happy for Marisha Pessl, who has received good reviews for her book even despite the fact that she is good looking (or, actually, author-good-looking, as Gawker points out), according to the Times . Our friends over at GalleyCat investigate the trend of hating on attractive authors as well as the trend of puff pieces such as the article this whole discussion was based on.
My question is, though–if looks don’t matter, how come I haven’t sold a book yet? Huh? (see author photo).
