Bridges of Cook County?

Today on the Gawker is a report about Yahoo hiring a photographer to cover war zones. This is remarkable for two reasons. First, a portal is adding its own journalists rather than relying on wire services. Second, could it be that the Bridges of Madison County was a true after all, and that all photojournalists really are dreamy?
But I digress. Freelancers who can take photographs to go with their stories may have an advantage on assignments, assuming they know how to take good photos. If you need a new camera (no, your cell phone won’t work), check out CNET for buying information. If you have a camera and want to do more with it than just get lucky, here are a few Web sites with tips: Silverlight.co.uk, Photography.about.com, and Basic Digital Photography.
Finally, Google’s Picasa is useful software for managing your digital photos.
