On the Road with Liza Monroy
In the interview, Liza talks about writing and selling personal essays, her forthcoming memoir, and juggling projects. Here's an excerpt:
Liza: I'm the writer-in-residence at the Kerouac Project of Orlando this summer. It is an amazing experience that I'd recommend to writers everywhere. You spend three whole months with time and space in the glorious Orlando home where Jack Kerouac lived when On the Road was published in 1957. He also wrote Dharma Bums in the back bedroom my current writing office! It's a hauntingly beautiful place and I'm getting more done than I ever have the productivity that comes with solitude and an inspiring environment. RELATED: |
