Lorie Parch, former executive editor of AOL UK, is currently juggling a number of different internet and magazine projects, including her upcoming mediabistro.com class on developing and launching websites. With a schedule that packed, we wondered why teaching was so important to her.

"I feel there's a need to set the record straight, to demystify the process of creating a website, to make it seem more doable and even fun. The launch is a heckuva lot of work -- but this is something anyone can do, and do well. I like the chance to help editors and writers build their confidence and avoid common errors.

And it's also helped me to stay at the top of my game, since the students are quite savvy. I like environments that are collaborative and having such smart students who share what they know makes it even more interesting to me."
