From the Editors @ Algonquin Books: Kathy Pories
Pories: I look for great creative nonfiction (the kind that is not just a flat-out memoir, but one with an interesting angle, such as Enslaved by Ducks or Candyfreak) and literary fiction, both of which seem to be what I do best, and what I have the best eye for. I don't think I have a good eye for commercial fiction—so even though Algonquin has somewhat broadened the types of fiction we publish, ranging now from literary to commercial, I stay on the literary side. More here. |
