Bulletin Board Blab 2.11.05
Staffer and freelancer Heather Schwartz talks about what writers have learned from great editors, from the big things ("never write something you don't understand") to the specific (like use of the word "that.") If you contribute something uncredited to a magazine, but it's your work nontheless, how do you list it on your resume? Very carefully. Networking can't be that important when it comes to getting into publishing, can it? Actually, yeah, it can. For a young graduate, should you attack the field or enjoy yourself first? You might be surprised by the input (and hopefully take that as a sign to enjoy yourself this weekend.) |
