What are some of the reasons an editor could kill a story? Did you identify strangely with Dennis Quaid in "Good Company"? Chat about being an older EA with younger bosses. How bad is it to accept a job and then quit when a better one comes along? Well, you probably won't make any friends doing it but you don't want to stick with a lesser job just for the sake of being polite. Is it absolutely necessary to have published clips to pitch a piece? Well, it helps. Some people here say to send the whole story, some people say absolutely not. I say it depends. My first piece published in a national newspaper was an essay that I submitted in its entirety to the editor, so you never know. |
