Bulletin Board Blab 5.16.05
Here's a good one: How do you recycle pieces to make them work for you? Oh my god, I can't believe you're working for the evil PR beast. I would never do that. OK, maybe I would. How much does it get me? Should you show your article to your interview subject prior to publication? Just imagine how delightful it would be if your editor and the subject have two different ideas of how the piece should look and I think you'll know the answer. Is it important to get the editor's name when pitching? When it's the difference between taking five minutes to call up to find the right person versus just guessing, it does look nice. What have been some of the darkest, dirtiest dealings you've seen pass for journalism? |
