Bulletin Board Blab 7.7.06
"I live in the Midwest and have been contacted about a job in NYC with a new talk show that's starting in the fall. They are not covering any moving expenses and the salary is in the low $50s. The stability of the job is week to week and benefits don't kick in for about 4 months after employment starts. Do you think this will be worth the move? Can I live in NYC/NJ comfortably for this amount of $?" also "I'm new to this genre and want to clarify: when a publication says they take 'personal essays,' is this essentially the same as a short memoir?" "I'm interested in writing one of those celebrity biographies you see in the teen section at Barnes & Noble (specifically interested in doing a Ryan Seacrest book.) How does one go about entering this world? Same as any other nonfiction effort (query to editor then book proposal), or is there a simpler way to go about it as these are seemingly churned out at a pretty quick clip?" (Also some sex in this question too but you'll have to click to find it!) "I'm trying to get a freelance career going after having graduated college last year. I've written a couple personal essays I'd like to submit to magazines. How do you all go about doing this? " "I'm taking a certificate program at NYU and was wondering if I should list the courses on my resume." "I'm looking for a class on ProTools here in New York. Any recommendations? Also, how much do you suspect such a class would cost?" Email This Post |
