You can't query magazines you haven't thoroughly researched--but buying armloads of periodicals can set a writer back. The Renegade Writer has some good tips on saving big bucks on magazines (my own fake but viable tip: steal them from your gym! Also, get over your distaste for rifled-through, sweaty magazines.)
