Two Lists to Improve Your Writing
No Train, No Gain offers 13 basics on improving your writing. Yeah, you know all this already but we all can remember to better our grammar, sentence length and quotes. I also like #13: "Feature people, not things. People add life to stories, help people relate to statistics, help them form opinions about issues." Then, Rebecca Blood offers Ten Tips for a Better Weblog. If you're just starting, #2 is a good element to figure out, because nobody is going to want to check out a blog with an identity crisis: "Determine your purpose. Weblogs are used to filter information, organize businesses, share family news, establish professional reputations, foment social change, and muse about the meaning of life. Knowing what you hope to accomplish with your weblog will allow you to begin in a more focused way." |
