Hello, Goodbye

Craft a forwarding email to everyone you know, alerting them of your new job and summarizing what you’ve been up to lately. The email will work like a delayed-release capsule of goodwill, a mini Trojan Horse CV (and you never know when you’ll need the boost of one of these folks for your next job-change), bringing everyone up to speed on your latest and greatest accomplishments, media appearances, writings, readings and more.

P.S. If you are wondering why you are receiving this email, it is because you are either a friend, relative, acquaintance, or an important person to Patrick Gavin (that’s me). From time to time, I will send out notices indicating new published material as a way of alerting you of new writings, and also as a way of promotion and publication. If you object to receiving such emails, feel free to indicate as much, and I will remove you from the list.

If you have a website or blog, I recommend putting up a button from NotifyList, if you do indeed send out newsletters. It’s easy to use, doesn’t send unwanted emails plus users sign or remove themselves up at well, without getting annoyed at you for signing them up without knowing it.
