How to Pitch: Diverse
A new editor is looking for writers to tackle higher education issues at this growing biweekly. Senior editor Christina Asquith, a former reporter for the Philadelphia Inquirer and ex-Iraq correspondent, says the key is having your pitch align with the magazine’s new expanded focus. “Extra attention will be paid to pitches which coalesce with the magazine’s mission to cover underrepresented communities” – like Asians, Native Americans, Hispanics and women – and, she says, “expose injustice.” Freelancers are welcome to pitch features, but nothing non-education (and no fiction, either). Email pitches.
