How to Pitch: Ladies’ Home Journal

ladieshomejournal.jpgOne in seven American women read this venerable pub and you’ve got to be great to find a spot on its pages. The new LHJ ditches the traditional front-of-book, feature well, back-of-book format in favor of seven distinct sections, most of which consist of one or two FOB-style gazette pages and a handful of medium-length stories (1,000 to 2,000 words). The sections “Your Self,” “Your Family” and “Life Stories” are some good places to start. “Family Matters,” “Inter-Life,” and “Health Journal” are mostly written in-house. Also not a great place to start for first-timers. Pitch by email. More info here.
