teenvogue.jpgEditors are always on the lookout for ideas for the “My World” section in the front of the book, about real teens enduring a difficult period or crusading against something, running at 600 to 800 words. “If you can bring a good teen that is a real person who could bring to light an issue that is happening now, that is always good,” says senior features editor, Leigh Belz. 75% of health stories are also open to freelancers. Entertainment is written in-house, so don’t touch that. And, don’t pitch anything that’s been covered lately, so make sure you’re familiar with the magazine.
