"A self-described 'annoying agent' when necessary, Rabinoff said she stays with a project long after it is sold. 'I just stay totally involved, which is another reason I can't take that many authors. I follow it through from the publicity to the events as far out as I can take it. I don't just sell the book and walk away,' she explains, adding that her level of engagement also influences which editors she approaches. 'I'm really careful who I match up,' she says. Not only does Rabinoff seek editors who have good chemistry with her clients, but also good relations 'between me and the editor a little bit, so that they're not seeing me as an annoyance but kind of as a help.'"
