How to Pitch: Citysearch & Mother Jones

citysearch.jpgIf you are working on gathering local writing clips or enjoy writing entertainment or consumer-based pieces, Citysearch might be a good place for you to pitch. "There is a Citysearch site (and assigning editor) in just about every major U.S. city, but new reviews are most prevalent in the nation's top 19 urban hubs: Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, Seattle, Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Austin, Denver, Las Vegas, Nashville, Miami, Twin Cities, Portland, Philadelphia, and the Triangle area of North Carolina," writes Heather Wood. Reviews are a great place to get in the door. Don't pitch by telling the editor why Citysearch sucks. Really, as often as that might have worked for you in the past, don't.
